'In-between' aims to explore the profound beauty that emerges from life's transitional phases. These paintings serve as a visual diary of my journey over the past six months, a period marked by unexpected challenges, family adventures, and moments of deep reflection. My intention with this series is to capture the essence of these in-between moments, the junctures between the old and the new, the known and the unknown, and to convey the inherent richness and significance they hold in our lives.

The colors inspired by the things that made me feel warm: the vibrant hues of super blooms during California hikes, the delicate shades of roses symbolizing love and renewal, the grandiose and awe-inspiring canyons that stirred my soul, the peace and tranquility of Sedona's landscapes, and the ever-changing palette of colors witnessed during my family road trips.

I chose Encaustics, a medium that, like life itself, possesses a mind of its own. I approach each canvas with a sense of openness and receptivity, allowing the wax to guide me. Instead of imposing my will upon the process, I surrender to the organic nature of the medium. This practice of intuitive creation often leads me in unexpected directions, deviating from my initial plans. Yet, it's in these deviations that I discover the true essence of my art. It felt like the right choice for what this series represent.

Each piece in the 'In-between' series is a testament to the importance of savoring the journey. The layers of wax, colors, and textures mirror the layers of life experiences that shape us. Through this tactile and sensory medium, I aim to evoke a visceral connection with the viewer, inviting them to reflect on their own in-between moments and the beauty that can be found within them.
The choice of smaller dimensions ((4 x 4 and 6 x 6 inches) reflects my belief in the significance of small moments, which can be equally transformative and defining in our lives.The smaller canvas sizes also makes these an ideal for gift for a friend or as a personal keepsake. Their versatility allows them to enhance any space – whether nestled in a cozy nook, adorning your wall, arranged in a group, or placed elegantly on your desk.
